Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect only what we need to quote, supply and support your order.
- We never sell your information or add you to marketing lists without asking.
- We share details with distributors, vendors and couriers only to fulfil your order.
- Some of our systems and our own team operate in India and the United States.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
The full policy below is what actually applies.
Austryn IT (ABN 78 700 265 792) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Contact details — your name, business name, email and phone number.
- Enquiry details — what you tell us in a quote request: part numbers, quantities, site information and timeframes.
- Order records — purchase orders, quotes, invoices, delivery addresses and asset serial numbers.
- Technical data — standard, aggregated request logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act, and you do not need an account to contact us.
How we collect it
Directly from you — through our contact form, by email, over the phone, or in the course of supplying an order. We do not buy contact lists or scrape personal information from third parties.
Why we use it
- To answer enquiries and prepare quotes.
- To process, deliver and support orders, including warranty and returns.
- To maintain asset and warranty records where we manage those for you.
- To meet our tax, record-keeping and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we will not add you to a marketing list off the back of a quote request without asking you separately.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only to do the job:
- Distributors and vendors — for order fulfilment, deal registration, licence provisioning, warranty registration and technical support.
- Couriers and freight providers — to deliver your order.
- Our service providers — hosting, email delivery and accounting systems acting on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Regulators or law enforcement — where the law requires it.
Overseas disclosure
Yes, some of your information is accessible outside Australia. Specifically:
- India — we operate in both countries, so our own team may handle your enquiry or order from there.
- United States — our website hosting and email delivery providers store and process data there.
Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no advertising cookies and no third-party behavioural tracking. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we will update this policy first.
How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to people who need it, and use reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, but if an eligible data breach occurs we will notify you and the OAIC as required.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable business record. Order and financial records are kept for at least seven years, as Australian tax law requires. After that we delete or de-identify what we no longer need.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
Email sales@austrynit.com.au and ask. You can request a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. We will respond within a reasonable period — normally within 30 days — and we will not charge you for asking.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, email sales@austrynit.com.au and we will investigate and respond, normally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business changes. The current version is always on this page with its last updated date.
